Kundalini's name is heard and now many people are saying that my Kundalini is awakened, but is it? This kind of question should own them. Kundalini is awakened the true values of which also in the world is difficult, because it belongs to normal, Kundalini is an energy that exists in everyone's body, usually in a dormant state. This means that most people never feel it and never know it is there. But in a very few people, perhaps one in one thousand, this energy becomes aroused, activated. This can be a happy event or it can be scary and disruptive, depending on whether you aroused your Kundalini on purpose or by accident.
Kundalini awakening is innate for all people: At the base of the spine, subtler than the physical body, lies the Kundalini energy, or spiritual energy, in a latent form. Regardless of what religious, spiritual, or meditation tradition one follows, the awakening of this energy, by whatever name you call it, is a most innate and essential part of spiritual advancement, unfoldment, or realization.
The Sanskrit word, kundalini, means coiled, like a snake. Kundalini energy is not recognized by medical science, and is often little understood even among teachers of Yoga and meditative traditions. It is, however, mentioned extensively in the literature of Yoga and Tantra (both Buddhist and Hindu).
Nowadays, a lot of books and yoga studios talk about Kundalini Yoga and its benefits, though they don’t know anything about it. Even to utter the word “kundalini”, we always bring a sense of reverence and then utter the word because it is so enormous. If you have to activate the Kundalini, the necessary preparation in your body, mind and emotion should happen, because if you pump energy into a system which is not ready for that kind of voltage or volume, things will fuse out.
Kundalini awakening entails the Kundalini energy moving up the spine from base to crown, and is associated with the idea of 'enlightenment'.
It has been written about in literature for a long time. The process revolves around the concept that you have a Kundalini serpent, that is said to reside at the base of your spine.
The Kundalini energy is associated with the Serpent that is said to dwell there at the base of the spine, wrapped three and a half times around the sacrum, until it is roused.
When this serpent rises up and makes its way to the crown, you are said to be enlightened. Be aware that many people have health issues from the awakening of their Kundalini.
